Student Testimonials

"Before I started training in Karate 3 months ago, I was going to therapy for my neck and my back. For over a year the therapy made me feel good until my next appointment. The doctors told me, the only way to correct the problem, is to have an operation. Thanks to the training at this academy, I no longer need the therapy. I am stronger, more agile, I have learned some Japanese and most importantly, self defense techniques"

"I joined Americas Finest Self Defense Academy after a 5 year retirement. I`m a 3rd degree Black Belt in Shorinji ryu Karate, and i had visited several dojo`s in New York trying to find the right school. No Dojo in this city meets a martial artists expectations like Americas Finest Self Defense Academy. Here you will find discipline, honor, and most of all real martial arts applicable techniques"

"America's Finest Self Defense Academy takes a no nonsense, reality based approach to self defense. Currently I am training in another martial art system which also takes a no nonsense approach to self defense. Rather than take away from what I have learned in that other system, Shihan Maldonado takes what I know and adds to my knowledge. There are many schools which don't allow for critical thinking, questioning, or making suggestions to better improve a system that is being practiced. But, this is not true at America's Finest Self Defense Academy. Everyone, has a hand in the learning process at the Academy. With different approaches and experiences the class tends to be an open forum for discussing different approaches. As a martial artist and a teacher I really appreciate this method of teaching"
